Gosh. What books do you like? Use them as the basis for a story. Rip
something off.

Really, you need to do the same old thing that has been the basis for
storytelling since the dawn of time: Make them feel important, and betrayed.
Do Hamlet. Do the Oddysey. Do Eleanor Moraes (my favorite).

Give them questions to answer and reasons to answer them. Vague enough?

Subject: [gworld] Greetings Mutants, I finally found you

Greetings,

I am so happy to have found this list. I have been looking for Gamma
World links since I have been on the web.

My friend, an AD&D freak, found a reference to this list on wood elf's
page of rpg links. I had failed with yahoo and alta vista.

I am the Tormentor who wrote that crappy little DOS character based
utility (gimme a break, I was only 15 when I started it) years ago.

I couldn't believe it was here. My life's ambition is to write a
smooth, Windows-based Gamma World GM Utilites System that includes a
character generator, random encounter generator, etc.

I see that someone has already written a windows-based character
generator.

I am so happy (typical newbie thing) to see there are other twisted
mutants like me here who have been hooked on this game and cannot get
away from it.

I have a good start into my GM System, but it will still take a while.
Since I program all day, sometimes it is hard to pick it up at night
again. I will put it on my website or send it you one of you to
peruse/critique when I finish it.

Lately, I have been more into Collectible Card Games, but I never put
down Gamma World entirely. When I did get a chance to Role Play lately,
one of our friends GM's an AD&D campaign. The only time the group has
played Gamma World is when I have ran the show, which marriage, career,
etc, has limited my time. They like to play GW okay, but no one else
will GM it.

That is kinda sad because my GM friend is a good Gamma GM as well as
AD&D, but he won't do it. This has left my wonderful "Tormentor"
character and his band of radioactivists stranded, from 1st edition all
the way through 4th, now they are stuck, with little hope to advance. I
have been playing that character since 1982, and he has been through
hell, but still manages to survive.

I don't have much on Gamma World at my site yet
(http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Zone/4547/index.html), but check back
by every so often for updates on my GM System, and I will also begin
posting NPC's as well as my character "Tormentor" and all the surviving
followers he has accumulated in tons of campaigning. I have converted
tons of animals from Palladium RPG systems, etc for use in my mutated
animal data for the program, and I will post the raw data for these
animals on the site as well.

Greetings again, it is good to type to all of you.
